A Simple, Yet Complex Cheese
Halloumi Cheese is a semi-hard, unripened, brined cheese made from a mixture of goat, sheep, and/or cow’s milk. Halloumi has a high melting point and can easily be fried or grilled. No acid or acid-producing bacterium is used in the preparation of Halloumi.
Halloumi originates from Cyprus as well as the Middle East and has grown in popularity. Consumption in Europe as well as North America rival that of the origin countries.
The texture of Halloumi is similar in comparison to Mozzarella or Feta since it does not melt easily. You can store Halloumi for up to a year. When Halloumi cultures and forms it offers a simple taste over most traditional cheese.
